Food Blog

Welcome to a historians thoughts on food. I do not know for sure how this blog will go but I appreciate anyone who sticks around to see where this goes. I hope you enjoy learning about recipes, the history of food, and some of my own experiences around this topic. I can promise it will be fun, interesting and will not only focus on recipes or history, but rather, a combo of those mixed with some of my general thoughts.

This being one of my first posts, wanted to show you all a project I have been working on for a little bit. I traced the pathway of sugarcane in the world and looked at how it became such a global product even though it originated on a couple of small islands.

Unfortunately due to technology not being compatible you must click the link, however I think this ArcGIS StoryMap is incredibly cool to explore. Most of the maps will include only a part of what I have included. I tried to create something that gives a general overview while exploring over ten thousand years of history.
